Tell me, you miss me I can feel it, I can feel it Snow fall, meets asphalt It’s so quiet, I can feel it Maybe, I can’t see I can feel it, I can feel it White washed, and numb thoughts Cold again I see, I can feel it And maybe through our stages My heart left dog-eared pages And I adored you, You ended it too soon Maybe I remember it wrong Darling, you’re falling To the wayside, I can feel it Snow drifts, like you drift Melt in oceans thick, I can feel it Love me, you said you loved me You only needed it, I can feel it Tell me, you miss me I can feel it, I can feel it And maybe through our stages My heart left dog-eared pages And I adored you, You ended it too soon Maybe I remember it wrong

Embers 05:49
Well the sun streaks morning skies And all the windows fly open Pierce our smile with sunny yellow Tend to fires in our minds I guess I breath to past the time As people seem to think they’re fine Fill my head like swollen bellows Kindle embers left inside I’m gone like fading embers Like cold novembers Like anything that no one remembers x2 I wander a path I left behind I never thought that I’d be back Black cold thoughts bring me back home Damned in moonlight is when I’ll go When the sun comes I’ll be gone Please understand that I never meant to be wrong My flame went out so long ago I’m ash in the hearth, I’m on my way home I’m gone like fading embers Like cold novembers Like anything that no one remembers x2 Just turn out the lights And maybe you’ll see me clearly I know it’s not right But promise me you'll forgive me

Family Tree 05:41
I guess I’ll be your knight in shining armor My word is yours I’ll make it fine and stronger Forget that blood makes things for sure I won’t let those scars not make me yours I’ve fallen deep into this place where I’m from I fell so close I relive all that I’ve done And when that wind takes leaves away from this tree I hope I’ll catch that breeze and drift away from me I look to heaven from this hell And I’ll outgrow, outgrow my family tree My roots are, so deep I hardly can breathe x2 I saw the deepest part of rivers beside me Black water take me from this winter of pining My father’s half what I hope I’m becoming But whiskey breaks its time, like father like son, see? I’m reaching for the air that won’t ever hold me But thoughts and prayers help from what they’ve told me I guess I’ll be your knight in shining armor My word is yours I’ll make it fine and stronger I look to heaven from this hell And I’ll outgrow, outgrow my family tree My roots are, so deep I hardly can breathe x2

about

In preparation for NPR's Tiny Desk Concert Contest, I recorded three of my more recent songs and will pick one to submit for the contest. Once again, Jordan Walsh and I teamed up within 4 hours and recorded and mixed the whole EP in roughly an hour and a half. Each song is the first take with any mistakes or improvisations kept as is, however this time we recorded inside with 2 microphones. The album picture represents the idea of these songs where I woke up after many tornadoes and looked out of my apartment to see a rainbow. Optimism in the face of a lot of doubt. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this one.
